American Singer/songwriter Lobelia has had a busy couple of years - she’s released a live album (with husband Steve Lawson), a new solo covers album, has toured in the UK, the US and had a baby. Whether playing her own songs or other people’s, Lobelia’s unmistakable voice and subtle guitar playing bring the stories-in-song to life, captivating audiences from Minneapolis to the Midlands. Funny, sad, poignant or touching, the emotion is always to the fore, heart draped over her sleeve and tongue often planted firmly in cheek.
Hi there lovelies! Let me start by saying that I am determined to post more on this here lovely little blog…and that to celebrate I think you should have a free track from my new record….

We have a great time talking for 30 mins and then there’s 30 mins of fabulous female artists! Also Greenbelt is getting nearer and I’m very excited to be playing on Sunday afternoon! My goodness, I have NOT been a good blogger since Baby Flapjack was born! Whilst you would have thought that a lot of our music would have suffered after having a baby…we managed to do a tour and record a new live album in the process! We played with some of my favourite musicians…such as Todd Reynolds and Neil Alexander and the whole experience of touring with a baby was amazing and difficult and humbling all at the same time. We realised how lucky we are to have a baby who thrives on new people and new situations, and how the help of wonderful friends along they way is indispensable. Also there is a BEAUTIFUL live video, shot by Brian Wilson using 2 Canon 5D Mark 2′s and and another fixed camera. More news soon, I promise!
I’ve put the latest song from the album In up for free download! As with the others, I could really use your help getting the word out about it! Because of all your help, these tracks have gotten out to way more people that I ever anticipated! Thanks so so so much! I’m going to start putting them out every week from now on as I find that two weeks is a little too long in between. Once all the tracks are out, then I hope you’ll all join me to hear them live! x
